Someone please make an app that takes all of your social feeds, and runs a cron job on them every couple hours so that when you poop, you can open up the app and see the one thing that is the very best thing to see in that one minute, and see it immediately.

I love the name.

I have some friends working on an app like this.  The difficulty is that often the “most important thing” to see is something that you’ve seen already.  We need a way to track stories that we’ve seen already… across devices, across apps, and even within apps.  I think Twitter might be the only company that could come close to building that in today’s world.

Slightly related: I built a little script that tells me whenever 3 people in my Twitter stream mention the same thing (url, hashtag, person) 3 times within the last 3 hours (and that wasn’t mentioned before). Those SMSes are pretty great to receive.  It’s push instead of pull, but it often gets me stuff before I see it via alternative routes.
